About Us

The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation (MXMF) was founded in 1971 to commemorate the birth site of Malcolm X (born Malcolm Little) in the heart of North Omaha, Nebraska. The MXMF was established to honor and sustain the legacy of Malcolm X and his teachings of Transformation, Economic Empowerment and Liberation of the Human Spirit through Civic Engagement, Cultural Heritage, and  Scholarship. Founded by Rowena Moore, The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation owns 17 acres encompassing the Nebraska Historic Landmark at 3448 Evans Street, where a historic Malcolm X Cultural Campus is scheduled to open in 2027.

Nebraska Hall of
Fame Bus Tour

Take a historic bus tour to our State Capitol Building in Lincoln, Nebraska to view the Malcolm X Bust in the Nebraska Hall of Fame. On the way, learn about the life of Malcolm X, and his work in social justice, economic independence and civil/human rights. This tour is in partnership with UNO Black Studies Department, North Omaha Initiative and Preston Love’s North Omaha Legacy Tours.
